The solo exhibition in Rome at Thesign gallery entitled ‘Isolità- Islandness’ investigates the theme of the individual, as an island and archipelago in relation to others. ‘Isolità’, is the name of the exhibition, a word created by the artist that embodies the concept of the exhibition.

It is a real invitation to reflect on the awareness of the value of one’s own uniqueness, to be preserved against every instance of uniformity and social standardization. Everyone lives on his own island, but all individuals relate to each other, so that the perceptions of each correspond perfectly to the reality of the others.

In 2018, Letizia Lo Monaco was invited by Farm Cultural Park, one of the most famous Italian realities dedicated to contemporary art and Edoardo Alaimo, a well-known influencer and content creator of luxury who commissioned a work that reflects on the theme of digital connections.

The installation ‘BlatteInRete.com’ was born in collaboration with Maricetta Lombardo, sound designer winner of the David di Donatello for Gomorra film and Nastri d’Argento for Gomorra film and the Tale of Tales as best sound.

It’s a success for the critics and the pubblic. The work expresses the positivity of the web and the interconnections that it generates, creating circles of relationships and exchanges of information that deeply color the individual and that otherwise would not be possible.

Inside the historical frame of the Castle of Chiaramonte di Favara -Agrigento, Letizia Lo Monaco inaugurates the personal art exhibition entitled ‘The Ugly Duckling, the Exile and the Return to itself’ by investigating through a wide temporal excursus of works, the women strength, through a path of social struggle and awareness.
